For the last month and a half...

...the kids continue to grow. Michael had kindergarten screening and said some very funny things to the teacher.

When asked, "what do you like to do?" He answered, "play with my friends." When asked, "What do you like to do inside?" He answered, "watch TV." Then, (and I don't know why the guy asked this, but he did) when asked, "What do you like to do outside?" Michael looked at him sideways and said, "I already told you play with my friends, don't you remember?"

Another skilled task was to list as many animals out loud as he could while the guy timed him. His list included, "white tigers, orange tigers, dinosaurs, red wolf, lions, elephants, penguins..." everything from our trip to the zoo, basically. (well except for the dinosaurs) He completely left out pig, cow, chicken, horse, sheep, goat, cat, dog - you know, the basics.

Rachel is very close to walking. She can walk while only holding on to one grown up finger. She enjoys cruising around in the boat, along furniture and getting up under the table.

Big words for a 4-year-old

Michael was riding his bike on the porch and I was telling him that we should probably take the training wheels off this summer. He gave me a coy look and said, "I'm apprehensive." I, in shock at the large word, started laughing. He said, "that means nervous." He said he heard it on The Upside Down Show.

I love The Upside Down Show! http://www.noggin.com/shows/upsidedown.php

A word that he doesn't quite get right... "Mom, you're bespiculous." Huh? "You know, Daffy Duck says, 'That's bespiculous.'"

I thought I was pretty good at showing appreciation and all that, until I started reading this. Anyone else up to the challenge?

Promoting Laughter

http://rutschows.blogspot.com/

My sister's blog is SO funny! For a few chuckles, check it out.

Look out - she's on the move

Baby is crawling... ALL OVER THE PLACE And pulling up on stuff and pulling stuff down and opening drawers and pulling stuff out of drawers and just plain old into everything. I need to immediately become a better house keeper, or she may choke on a dust bunny.
Big brother's response is laughter and, "look out mom, the monster is coming."

Lately

Rachel is really clinging and afraid of strangers. Which is fine for me since I don't get to see her much during the week. I don't mind getting all of her attention on the weekend.

Michael is growing very quickly. He's 44 inches. That is 2-1/4 inches taller than in November!!!

I'm reading Proverbs; one a day (or at least trying to). And, I'm trying to write in my journal daily.

I've been struggling with whether to stay at Massena Baptist or start going to Emmanuel Baptist. They are equal in a lot of respects. It's the inequalities that are making my decision difficult. And the fact that I've become a member of Massena Baptist, it's not so easy to just pack up and leave.

Hewey's in the snow

She's in there somewhere.

Baby Milestones

Rachel is cutting two bottom front teeth. She is sitting up alone and scooching around on the floor.

Michael loves to get in her face. She loves to grab his hair when he does that.

blogging is work

I can't seem to find the time to blog. I just read Michele's and they crack me up and are so short and sweet. Maybe if I just try to sum up the day.

Fun Day on the Slopes

Chris got up and decided to take Michael sledding at Clarkson. They have one really big hill. I packed up Rachel and went to watch, and video tape!!! Got some really funny clips. Michael had a blast, so did Chris. I'll post the clips on Youtube.com under yocat12.
